UV-resistant PETG with reinforced walls, built for outdoor use. It won't degrade in sunlight, and a built-in drainage channel prevents water from sitting behind the bracket.
Fair question, but for a bracket it isn't. The MilliMount sits clamped flat against your wall, and everything the reel does to it arrives through the four lag screws. So the plastic that matters is the solid wall wrapped around each screw hole. The open middle of the panel isn't carrying anything, and filling it just adds weight.
It can actually make things worse. Thick solid PETG shrinks unevenly as it cools, and that pulls the layers apart from the inside. Which is the exact kind of crack you were trying to avoid.
Each bracket is printed at 0.2 mm layers with 1 mm walls and 25% infill, in UV-resistant PETG. That's about 210 g of plastic and roughly 9½ hours on the printer.

Any lap siding (also called clapboard or horizontal plank siding). That includes vinyl, James Hardie / HardiePlank, fiber cement, wood clapboard, LP SmartSide, and composite. If your siding has overlapping horizontal boards with a step between them, MilliMount works with it.
No. Standard lag screws into your wall studs — same installation as Hoselink's own instructions. The holes are already aligned.
